i just got done watching this movie and i must say it was wrongly done and does cinema no justice.
the film tries to be clever by not going in chronological order, but all it really does is make Memento look more brillaint.
i agree with you on the fact that it was slow, but overall it was a good story coated with magnificent performances.
the movie was definitely not a top 10, probably not even a top 20 of the year, but an effective story. it just would've been ten times better if it's clever endeavors didnt overwhelm sincerity

Are you serious?
Of course doesn't reach the "heights" of Samurai like films, but for the people who love cinema this film is oxygene like the one Paul needs in the beginning.
The characters are beyond any pseudo artistic standards, but maybe such films speak more to us here in Europe than in the country they are actually filmed.

I saw it. I liked it. But I think it tried to be a bit too unique with the chronology, ripping off the director's earlier work, and of course Memento. Good story but the back-and-forth narrative was unnecessary. Just trying to make a simple story confusing. I'd personally give it maybe 4/5 for story and performances.

What the F$%&/ck is wrong with Gonzales Iarritu?!?!?!? Is he on permanently depressive state? Is he having to many valiums? This is the 3d film I see from him and he seems bent on showing how the world sucks. Not too far from the truth but that's why I go to the movies: To escape that truth for at least 90 minutes. Cill out man!

wake up reviewer. to say naomi watts has merely been a decent actress 2 years after
her great performance in mulholland dr is unbelievably forgetful.
