How the filmmakers screwed up what was a perfectly aceptable teen thriller novel by prolific Lois Duncan I will never know. This film isn't even similar beyond the title and the inclusion of a note reading "I Know...". The novel isn't anything near a slasher horror piece, rather it's a tale of guilt and secrets that haunt those involved for years on end. I even heard that the author, Duncan, disowned the film adaptation because she was disappointed with the fundamental changes that were done to her novel to make a film in the mold of the uber popular 'Scream' franchise of films.
