Yes, it was based on an H.P. Lovecraft story. I probably should have worded that differently. My point was that "Re-Animator", a great movie, was capitalizing on "Dawn of the Dead"'s success. If not for Romero's masterpiece, Stuart Gordon may not have been inspired to make his film. Then again, maybe he would have made it anyway. It's hard to guess. "Dawn" re-energized the zombie film genre, and movies like "Re-Animator," "Return of the Living Dead" and "Dead Alive" came out as a result. Hope this clears things up.
