To say that Alison Lohman is a "unforgivingly bad actress" is awful and unneccesary. You refer to the scene where she was shot, well, so you didnt like that scene, it does not give you the right to say that. I bet shes twice the actor you could ever be, and maybe you should re-think your statement, because she really proves herself in Matchstick Men. You also say that White Oleander is not a movie with emotion, just a movie with "shiny devices of emotion." You seem to me like a person who isn't into this movie(obviously), but insulting the actresses in the movie and degrading the movie because of thier performances is wrong and I think it is very mean to say that about an actress who is just starting out. I hope when you try something thats damn near impossible to get perfect like acting that people say the same about you and crush you spirits.

White Oleander is a movie of a mother's poisonous love upon her only child, her only daughter.
It is clear to me this theme did not interest you in the slightest, so you had alot of fun undermining each character and actress!
I thought it was a promising film that addressed the notion of how strong a hold a mother has over their child's choices in life.
Next time you might be a little bit more generous with your comments, consider the plot before you decide you already hate the movie!!

I haven't seen the movie, I've heard mixed things about it, but whatever. This review was hilarious. "And bells" just killed me.

Appreciate the comment.
I've given up defending my position on this movie against those that love it. It was horrible, and there isn't really any defense for it. I do find it slightly humorous that those who don't like my review very often say things like, "this is a movie about a mother's poisonous love..." As though any movie falling into whatever category we might put this one in must ipso facto be a good movie.
Anyway, cheers.
