Hadn't thought of the "Trifids" parallels yet. I found the film to be quite solid, looking quite impressive for a theatrical release derived from a digital video cource. Overall, it was really nothing new, with lots of Romero overones, especially his lesser known "The Crazies", where an accidental biotoxin spill drives the locals insane, and violent. The musical soundtrack is quite impressive, with its zombie attacks supported by wailing guitar workouts. Getting pretty difficult to find good horror films these days, but this delivers what it promises, for a change. Wonder hoiw the re-release with the new ending worked out for them financially?
