What a silly review! The reviewer obviously knoww nothing about Stuart England (nad little about anything else, I would wager). When did Oliver Cromwell become a monster??? The film is not about the ideas or even the personalities of the English Civil War but modern sexual politics (with a heavy dose of absurdly played homoeroticism). But then this is an egregiously silly film, so the review is a good match. It makes the recent fiasco GODS AND GENERALS look like a documentary.
