Well to put it simply, Spanking the Monkey was certainly dramatic, and O'Russell's previous two films (Flirting with Disaster and Three Kings) were nothing short of brilliant.
Sounds like this one's a dud.

I think Three Kings is a very good film but I Heart Huckabees looks like a stinker.

since the other 2 reviews did not see this film--they took your word for it, i think the reviewer did not watch the last part of the film. naomi watts was hilarious AFTER she was enlightened & decided looking good wasn't enough. the reason is say the reviewer did not see the film is that she wore overalls & a bonnet, pigged out, & looked dirty in the last part of the film--while he said all she did was look good. he did not see the rest of the film & how funny she was when she was when she attacked her previous self 180degrees opposite what he described.

MINOR SPOILERS
I saw the entire film, I just deemed it necessary to make only a broad statement regarding her character because not only would discussing her transformation be unnecessary, it would be a spoiler for those who have not seen the film. And it wasn't very funny; just another tired stab at being quirky by writer-director Russell.

You may have sat through the entire film, but it would appear you saw very little of it. Please don't pass this movie because of one ill written review.

Just because he has a different opinion than you, what gives you the right Melissa to jump all over him? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and leave it at that.

That's why we have the comments section and welcome opinions in support or opposition of the reviews. People don't always agree on whether they think films are good or bad after all.
