I had a friend who wrote a movie for Fullmoon many a year ago and I think you have the spirit of the FM approach to movie making down to a T.
In that particular movie, my friend, who I must admit wasn't much of a writer (and has since never managed to secure another gig) was given the task of writing a set of scenes with very rigid parameters... x number of couples, x number of sets, and x number of situations involving those couples simulating intercourse at one of the sets.
In each case x was a number less than 4. You can imagine the quality of the work that was delivered given the flexibility of the scenario.
Charles Band is also fairly infamous for embezzeling money from Paramount Pictures in a scheme which involved among other interesting fiscal maneuvers, purchasing a castle in romania or some other former soviet bloc country, which was used by Band in one the FM vampire movies.

Thanks for the comments. I've heard about that castle he bough in Romania. It showed up in "Castle Freak." I also read that Band tried to pay Tim Thomerson in Romanian money instead of American dollars, and that severed the relationship between the two.
Some of the FM movies were good. The "Subspecies" series was pretty neat, and "Pit and the Pendulum" was excellent. Not a whole lot to get excited over other than these titles though.
Back in my teen years, I actually joined the FM fan club because I liked the way Charles Band introduced the Video Zone concept. That was foolish. I never got a single friggin' newsletter that I was supposed to get. I emailed and snail mailed repeatedly (there was no number to call) and never got a response. I just gave up after awhile, and I've harbored a deep suspicion of Charles Band ever since.

Yeah he's certainly a bit shady although he has given some people an opportunity, ala Roger Corman. One other FM flick that was pretty interesting and never got its due was Shrunken Heads.
