House of 1K Corpses is absolute rubbish in every sense of the word. The plot is generic, the acting pathetically bad by any standards, the cinematography (If you can even call it that) frighteningly amateurish, and the display of violence and other grotesque images bordering on sickening. The film is a sadistic pile of trash that Rob Zombie should be ashamed of concocting. The saddest thing of it all is that a sequel of sorts is on the way with the title 'The Devil's Rejects.' God, I hated this movie! I could feel myself losing faith in humanity as the minutes passed. This was a movie that should never have been made.
How anyone can like a movie where the people you're supposed to sympathize with are the killers? They have to be the ones you're sympathizing with because they're the only ones who live.
I really wish I could have my two hours back.

I thought it had its heart in the right place--if you're the type of person who would be delighted to see Sid Haig headlining a movie, you're the type of person who would enjoy this. (I would, and I did, up to a point.) It's a shame that the story kind of disappears about halfway through, and everything goes under in a wave of directorial excess. At least it can be said that it isn't bad because of a lack of ambition; it's bad in new, bizarre ways all its own.
