'Cat People' is one of my favorite horror movies - a rare cross between erotica and the horror genre that is tastefully done and still able to shock horror audiences today with gross-out effects. The best part about 'Cat People'? Is it the David Bowie/Giorgio Moroder soundtrack as they channelled the Doors? The beautiful and appropriately feline Nastassja Kinski? The manic Malcolm McDowell? The perky Annette O'Toole? The steamy New Orleans setting? Or the sleek and moody writing and direction by Paul Schrader who gave us 'Taxi Driver', 'Affliction', 'The Last Temptation of Christ', 'Raging Bull', 'American Gigolo' and my personal favorite - 'Mishima'. If you're a horror fan who can buy into mythology that a man can fly, turn into wolves, or be invisible, 'Cat People' is an overlooked horror forerunner to movies like 'Underworld' and is worth seeing.

I've got to say that I'm very surprised you liked this, Harrison. I found it very "80s-typical" and excessive and silly and, well, boring. But I know I have some favorite films people don't like so I respect your opinion.

Thanks for the comment!
